 Jeff Goodman, dog groomer extraordinaire, is very involved in community affairs.

 Thank you for clicking over here to find out more about the various community activities that I am so passionate about. You are within the Common Ground website right now and I will talk more about this wonderful agency below.

Jeff is currently serving his second term as Commissioner on the Los Angeles County Commission on HIV and Health Services.  He was appointed by unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors.   He co-chairs the Priorities and Planning Committee, which is responsible for prioritizing health care services for the county and allocating federal money to those services.  He also sits on the Public Policy Committee, which helps influence the County’s legislative priorities for Sacramento and D.C.

Jeff recently served as spokesperson for Los Angeles County at the December 1, 2007 World AIDS Day events around the county.  Currently, Jeff is proud to be attending the Santa Monica Citizen’s Police Academy to learn more about the workings of our local police department.  Jeff also serves on an oversight panel for the Sheriff’s Department classification and intake process.

 Jeff also is Secretary on the Board of Directors of COMMON GROUND, a Santa Monica based social service agency located on Lincoln Boulevard near Pico.  Common Ground is a small grassroots agency that works in several areas including: 

·         Prevention of HIV through innovative strategies among individuals within vulnerable communities, especially women.

 ·         Engaging AT-RISK YOUTH in a peer based drop-in environment, providing basic needs and health services.

 ·         Providing HIV Care Service through a comprehensive continuum of medical, mental health and social services for Westside residents emphasizing safety, community, independence and self-direction.

 In an effort to inform and educate the greater community of Common Ground’s mission and accomplishments, Jeff is hosting several tours of the agency.  YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED FOR MONEY.  IN FACT YOU WILL RECEIVE A $10 CREDIT OFF YOUR NEXT GROOMING SERVICE IF YOU ATTEND.   Jeff just wants people to know about a truly great agency and a chance to talk more about what he does beyond working with our canine companions.
